PoolWise BioFilm Eradicator

A unique and patented form of chlorine dioxide, which is capable of penetrating and dispersing biofilms, the major breeding ground for pathogenic bacteria.

Chlorine dioxide will kill legionella pneumophila, Cryptosporidium, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and mycobacterium species, and other pathogens often found in swimming pool water, structures and plant.  If unacceptable levels of bacteria are found and/or slimes are present there is an immediate need to clean and disinfect the system.  BioFilm Eradicator utilises a patented and controlled sustained release technology for chlorine dioxide delivery in tablet form.  This technology, which is exclusive to BioLab, allows precise control of the concentration, strength and rate of release of chlorine dioxide.

On an equivalent dose basis, chlorine dioxide is between four and seven times more effective as a biocide than chlorine.

MAIN FEATURES

  • A unique and patented form of chlorine dioxide, which is capable of penetrating and dispersing biofilms, the major breeding ground for pathogenic bacteria
  • Effective against a wide variety of bacteria
  • Particularly effective at killing E.coli, and coliforms, Cryptosporidium, Giardia, Legionella Pneumophila and MRSA
  • Chlorine dioxide mantains its efficacy over a pH range of 1 to 10

BioTest Microbiological Kits

BioTest use a unique formulation of chromogenic media in kit form which provides a qualitative on site test for detecting the presence of bacteria in swimming pools, hot tubs and spas.  The test will detect waterborne bacteria including total coliforms, E-coli, Staphylococcus and Pseudomonas.

Microbiological problems should be insignificant in a well managed pool or spa with an adequate disinfectant residual, a pH value maintained at the recommended level and regular filter backwashing. Nevertheless, samples of pool or spa water should be tested at appropriate intervals to ensure that all is well as per PWTAG (Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group) and PAS 39:2003 (Management of Swimming Pools – Code of Practice) guidelines.

PoolWise BioTest Kits offer a quick and cost effective method for assessing the microbiological quality of swimming pools, hot tubs and spas. It is suggested that all systems are tested on a weekly basis to ensure that contamination from waterborne bacteria or bacteria that may exist within a biofilm is minimised and optimum water conditions are maintained. A ‘biofilm’ is a thin layer of a bacteria that can build up to form a slime on all surfaces which are in contact with water.

Water contaminated with disease causing micro-organisms (or pathogens), is often a cause of illness. These tests will detect unsafe levels of micro-organisms including total coliforms, E-coli, Staphylococcus and Pseudomonas, thereby improving bather safety.

Main features

  • A unique formulation of chromogenic media
  • Simple and cost effective on site test
  • Detects waterborne bacteria within 24 hours
  • Ensures confidence and reassurance with respect to water quality and bather safety

PoolWise Shower Head cleaner

Under general health and safety law there is a legal requirement to consider risks from legionella.  These duties are outlined in L8 ACOP (legionnaires disease - the control of legionella bacteria in water systems).  PoolWise Shower Head Cleaner has been produced to assist in reducing the risk of legionella.

Any spray type fittings should be cleaned regularly to prevent build up of biofilm and particular attention should be paid to showers which are out of action for long periods, before reinstatement cleaning should be undertaken.

Main Features

  • Biocidal properties
  • Descaler
  • Sanitiser
